Removals

Unfortunately, if pruning or cabling cannot solve the problem, complete tree removal is the only option. Typically, removals are done on trees that are dead, dying, diseased, structurally unstable or growing in an undesired location. Every removal poses a different set of challenges, but at TreeSolve our ISA certified Arborists are trained and equipped to do the job safely & efficiently.

Pruning

Consider pruning as tree maintenance that promotes tree health and structural integrity. Trees in the urban environment require more maintenance for aesthetics and safety reasons. A thorough understanding of tree biology is essential for proper pruning. Adversely, improper pruning can have long lasting detrimental effects, and can even help facilitate in the spread of disease. Most pruning involves the removal of dead, dying and diseased branches, selective crown thinning to promote air movement, proper branch structure and increase light penetration. While other trees need to be selectively pruned for clearance from utility lines, houses, garages, etc.

Tree Cabling

Cables are used as supplemental structural supports to reduce the risk of failure of branches, limbs and muli-stemmed trees. The ISA certified Arborists at TreeSolve use a non-invasive dynamic cabling system that performs better that intrusive steel rod systems because it flexes and moves with the tree rather than static rods that can fail without warning. Another benefit is that as your trees grow with time, the cables can be adjusted, therefore keeping you tree safer for longer. We use a 3/4”, 24 strand hollow braid polyester cable rated for over 10,000 lbs, and used chafe sleeves to prevent abrasion against the tree.

Emerald Ash Borer Injections

Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) was first found in Ontario and Detroit in 2002 and has further spread into neighboring states and provinces. In 2017, EAB was first detected in Winnipeg and is slowing spreading across the city. It attacks and kills healthy and stressed Ash trees. TreeSolve has experience licensed and insured applicators to help protect your Ash trees.

Symptoms: The EAB live underneath the bark and feed on the vascular tissues of Ash trees. This creates galleries in the phloem, xylem and vascular cambium, girdling the tree which eventually leads to death. Common symptoms are canopy dieback, Dshaped exit holes, heavy seed-crops, woodpecker damage, vertical cracks in trunk and epicormic sprouts below the infected tissues.

Treatments: IMA-Jet has been proven to be the most effect in combat of the EAB. Before extensive tissue damaged has occurred (<40% crown dieback), micro-injections with IMA-Jet is recommended, but treatment is suggested prior to crown dieback for most effective results. Treatments can be done anytime during the growing season (May-September), but is recommended during the spring. The uptake of IMA-Jet is quickest when the tree is actively transpiring and dosage rates are dependent upon tree size. Call for a free estimate.
